Public speaking workshop
This month’s main event is all about learning how to speak in public with confidence.
Public speaking is a crucial skill but doesn’t come naturally to many of us. Tina Getachew, communications professional and member of Toastmasters International, will host a workshop on the dos and don’ts of speaking to a crowd. She will:
– Give tips for both planned presentations and impromptu speaking;
– Explain how to avoid some common errors; and
– Help us understand how to conquer nervousness and deal with stress and fear in all situations that require speaking to an audience.
Do you have a specific question you would like Tina to answer? Don’t forget to include it when you RSVP
Tina Getachew holds a degree in International Relations and Communications from Syracuse University. She has delivered presentations in both English and Spanish to heads of government in Washington and Santiago. She also won second place in a national Toastmasters Table Topics competition in which speakers presented impromptu speeches to an audience of 200 people.
